ADA COUNTY COMPREHENSIVE PLAN
This is a very
large document which states as its purpose to address the policies and actions related to future land use,
growth and development
It had recently been updated. We now need a sub-area plan to protect the Central
Foothills. Such a plan was considered to be a top priority "action item"
resulting from the Comprehensive Plan public meetings. No work on the
Central Foothills plan has yet begun.
BLUEPRINT FOR GOOD GROWTH
As stated on the home page of its web
site, "Focusing and sustaining the growth is the aim of the Ada County Land
Use and Transportation Guide Plan, or Blueprint for Good Growth - an attempt
to create efficient and beneficial development..."
Also:
The Blueprint's Steering Committee is
working to finalize policy recommendations for the project. These
recommendations include:
-
Rural development should be limited
to 5 percent of total county growth.
-
The cities should adjust their
development procedures to facilitate desired development patterns.
-
Planned communities must be
consistent with adopted plans, should be encouraged within cities and
areas of impact, and should pay the full cost for public facilities and
services.
-
Adequate water, wastewater,
transportation, stormwater management, fire protection, and school
capacity should be required as a condition for new development
It appears the Dry Creek Ranch Planned Community does not meet these criteria.
